Really random but delicious breakfast from the other morning. This was right before I headed to my sisters and didn’t have much to work with, came up with this breakfast and it totally hit the spot 👌🏼 #whatsonmyplate: ✌🏼 eggs and one corn + wheat tortilla both cooked on my @lodgecastiron. Also made a hash by combining two @applegate chicken sausage breakfast links, a few mini peppers and tomatoes from the @gofarmersmarket, and lots of purple cabbage all cooked in my cast iron with some s+p and garlic powder. BREAKFAST . . Ellenie’s Raspberry Kisses Noatmeal . 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk 1/2 cup Raspberries 2 tbsp. Hemp hearts 2 tbsp. Almond flour 2 tbsp. Shredded unsweetened coconut 1 tbsp. Flaxseed meal @melrosehealth 1 tbsp. Chia seeds 1 tsp. Pumpkin seeds (garnish) 1 pinch Himalayan salt 1/2 tsp. Pure vanilla essence 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon . . Add all ingredients except for the vanilla essence into a small saucepan over a low heat and cook until thickened, stirring continuously (keep some seeds, coconut and berries back for garnish) Should take about 3 to 5 minutes. . Remove from heat and stir through vanilla essence. Serve warm 👌🏻🍃 . . You can also make this in the microwave. Add all the ingredients except for the vanilla essence and anything you want to use as your garnish to a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1-minute, stir and microwave for an additional 1-minute or until thickened. Depending on your microwave you might need more. I needed a total of 4 with the microwave at work today. Stir through vanilla essence, top with garnishes and enjoy warm! . . . Did you guys know eating lower carb meals can improve your mood and stress response? i noticed BIG changes in my energy and anxiety when I cut down on carbs (especially processed ones). That's because high carb foods significantly increase the stress hormone cortisol. Excess cortisol is also damaging to brain and the lining of gut! . The key here is BALANCE - protein and fat slow the release of insulin to help keep blood sugar in check. One of my biggest tips is to read the ingredient list on ALL packaged foods. Today there are so many foods marketed as “healthy” which are the complete opposite. This is an example of a “health food”, however the ingredients don’t strike me as healthy, how about you? The current Recommendation is no more than 6 tsp of sugar per day. In one serve of this cereal with the recommended skim milk 🙄🙄🙄 there is 4.5 tsp of sugar and that’s only for breakfast, and I’m not sure about you but the serving size of a cup of sugary cereal with a glass of skim milk sure as hell is not going to fill me up, fuel my brain or keep me going until lunch. Also be mindful of all the different names for sugar in this product there is: sugar, invert sugar, sugar humectant, glucose, golden syrup, honey as well as some nasty oils and gelling agents. These seared steak bites 🥩🥩 are cubes of sirloin steak 🥩🥩 cooked to perfection in a garlic butter sauce. An easy meal or party snack that's ready in just minutes! 😍😍 . . Link in bio!! 👌👌 . . Ingredients 1 1/4 lbs sirloin steak cut into small cubes 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 tablespoons butter 2 teaspoons minced garlic salt and pepper to taste 1 tablespoon minced parsley Instructions Heat the olive oil in a large pan over high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste. Place the steak in the pan in a single layer; you may have to work in batches depending on the size of your pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Repeat with remaining meat if needed. Add the butter and garlic to the pan; cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring to coat the meat in the sauce. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
